College-Bound Curriculum
We require 28 credits to graduate. Year-long courses earn one credit; semester-long courses earn 0.5 credits.
The following course distribution is required:
- 4 Credits of English
- 4 Credits of Math (all students are required to take 4 years of Math)
- 3 Credits of Science
- 3 Credits of Social Studies
- 2 Credits of World Languages
- 1 Credit of Physical Education/Health
- 1 Credit of Theology for each year in attendance
- 1 Credit of Corporate Work Study for each year in attendance
- 5 Credits of Electives:

- Introduction to Psychology
- Personal Finance
- Personal Fitness and Wellness
- Physics

As a member of the Cristo Rey Network of schools, our students have access to classes through the Arrupe Virtual Leaning Institute, an online learning community made up of catholic high schools across the country. Courses that are often difficult to run at an individual school are made available to students through AVLA.
Students also have access to:
- GradPoint, which offers online course to supplement and extend students’ interests in a wide range of subjects from psychology to engineering,
- A-Abbott Driving School, which offers Drivers Education classes.

Illinois Seal of Biliteracy
Cristo Rey St. Martin students have the opportunity to earn the Illinois State Seal of Biliteracy by demonstrating high levels of proficiency in Spanish. Students who earn the Illinois Seal of Biliteracy will have it indicated on their transcript. Illinois public universities will accept the State Seal of Biliteracy as equivalent to 2 years of Spanish coursework taken during high school.
