Academics

Cristo Rey St. Martin College Prep provides a rigorous 10-month college preparatory curriculum and our students are invested in learning and experiencing what it takes to be admitted to and graduate from a four-year college or university.

The faculty consists of 22 teachers, two school counselors, two college counselors, two alumni directors, and three resource teachers. 66% of the teachers hold Master’s degrees. The student-to-faculty ratio is 15:1. In addition, there are 78 full and part-time staff members and Corporate Work Study program drivers.

We strive to give each student both the challenge and the support to succeed in pursuit of their education and work to integrate the lessons they learn on their Corporate Work Study Program jobs and in the classroom. About 25% of CRSM students participate in College Bound Opportunities and/or the Waukegan to College program. These programs prepare high potential, low-income students to succeed in college through academic support, mentorship and college scholarship awards.

Expanding Horizons, Inspiring Excellence, Transforming Communities
  • Thank you to everyone who joined us this morning for our MLK Prayer Service as we gathered in prayer, reflection, and community to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

We are especially grateful to Rev. Tranell Duffy for his powerful message calling us to be proactive and to contribute to positive change in the world, to Pastor Pierre Edmonds, our Dean of Students, for presiding over the service, and to Khalid Jernigan for blessing us with his soulful saxophone music.

This year marked ten years of Khalid sharing his gift with our community during MLK prayer services, and we are deeply thankful for his faithful presence and the spirit he brings to our worship each year.
