Academics

Cristo Rey St. Martin College Prep provides a rigorous 10-month college preparatory curriculum and our students are invested in learning and experiencing what it takes to be admitted to and graduate from a four-year college or university.

The faculty consists of 22 teachers, two school counselors, two college counselors, two alumni directors, and three resource teachers. 66% of the teachers hold Master’s degrees. The student-to-faculty ratio is 15:1. In addition, there are 78 full and part-time staff members and Corporate Work Study program drivers.

We strive to give each student both the challenge and the support to succeed in pursuit of their education and work to integrate the lessons they learn on their Corporate Work Study Program jobs and in the classroom. About 25% of CRSM students participate in College Bound Opportunities and/or the Waukegan to College program. These programs prepare high potential, low-income students to succeed in college through academic support, mentorship and college scholarship awards.

This week, we are proud to welcome iBIO’s STEMgirls Summer Camp to our school for its 10th anniversary celebration! This year’s theme, **Case Breakers**, gives 125 girls in grades 3–8 the chance to step into the world of forensic investigations through hands-on STEM learning.

We are especially proud to have both CRSM students and alumni serving as volunteers, helping inspire the next generation of scientists, researchers, engineers, and innovators.

Programs like STEMgirls help build confidence, curiosity, and career pathways for young learners while strengthening the talent pipeline for one of Lake County’s most important industries.

Thank you to @ibiostem, @abbottglobal, the Steans Family Foundation, TerSera Therapeutics, the @cityofwaukegan, our CRSM volunteers, educators, and partners for making this meaningful experience possible.

The case is clear: the future of STEM is bright. 🕵️‍♀️✨

Yesterday, we proudly celebrated the graduation of the Class of 2026 — a remarkable group of young leaders whose achievements reflect resilience, determination, and excellence.

Friday’s Senior Send Off was a beautiful celebration of the Class of 2026 and all they have accomplished. From academic excellence to leadership, service, and perseverance, our students were honored for the incredible impact they have made on our community.

Congratulations to Romeo Y., recipient of the Spirit of St. Martin Award, Diego M., our Valedictorian, and Jeremias L., our Salutatorian — along with the many other award recipients recognized during our Senior Sendoff celebration.

As we celebrate graduation weekend, we recognize a class where:
🎓 100% of seniors were accepted into four-year college programs for the 7th consecutive year
🎓 60% were accepted into some of the most selective colleges and universities in the country
🎓 93% are first-generation college students

We are so proud of the resilience, faith, and determination of this remarkable class. Forever, they will be part of the Cristo Rey St. Martin family.
