Academics

Cristo Rey St. Martin College Prep provides a rigorous 10-month college preparatory curriculum and our students are invested in learning and experiencing what it takes to be admitted to and graduate from a four-year college or university.

The faculty consists of 22 teachers, two school counselors, two college counselors, two alumni directors, and three resource teachers. 66% of the teachers hold Master’s degrees. The student-to-faculty ratio is 15:1. In addition, there are 78 full and part-time staff members and Corporate Work Study program drivers.

We strive to give each student both the challenge and the support to succeed in pursuit of their education and work to integrate the lessons they learn on their Corporate Work Study Program jobs and in the classroom. About 25% of CRSM students participate in College Bound Opportunities and/or the Waukegan to College program. These programs prepare high potential, low-income students to succeed in college through academic support, mentorship and college scholarship awards.

It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate and thank all of our business partners, both new and longtime supporters, who invest in our students each year. The morning began with breakfast, networking, and meaningful conversation before we transitioned into the program. Preston Kendall shared updates and insights about the state of the school. It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate and thank all of our business partners, both new and longtime supporters, who invest in our students each year. Yesterday’s Lunch and Learn session looked a little different! In the spirit of utilizing technological resources, this month’s Lunch and Learn took place via Zoom, with our presenters speaking to our students about AI in the Workplace. This is a very current subject for many workplaces across the country and world, and it sparked great dialogue between our students and the presenters. Thank you to Igor Vasquez, BTS Associate Director at AbbVie, and Eric Stortz, Vice-President and Associate CIO of DeVry University, for taking the time to engage with our students!
