Academics

Cristo Rey St. Martin College Prep provides a rigorous 10-month college preparatory curriculum and our students are invested in learning and experiencing what it takes to be admitted to and graduate from a four-year college or university.

The faculty consists of 22 teachers, two school counselors, two college counselors, two alumni directors, and three resource teachers. 66% of the teachers hold Master’s degrees. The student-to-faculty ratio is 15:1. In addition, there are 78 full and part-time staff members and Corporate Work Study program drivers.

We strive to give each student both the challenge and the support to succeed in pursuit of their education and work to integrate the lessons they learn on their Corporate Work Study Program jobs and in the classroom. About 25% of CRSM students participate in College Bound Opportunities and/or the Waukegan to College program. These programs prepare high potential, low-income students to succeed in college through academic support, mentorship and college scholarship awards.

  • Yesterday’s Lunch and Learn session looked a little different!

In the spirit of utilizing technological resources, this month’s Lunch and Learn took place via Zoom, with our presenters speaking to our students about AI in the Workplace.

This is a very current subject for many workplaces across the country and world, and it sparked great dialogue between our students and the presenters.

Thank you to Igor Vasquez, BTS Associate Director at AbbVie, and Eric Stortz, Vice-President and Associate CIO of DeVry University, for taking the time to engage with our students!
  • Today during lunch, our students led a powerful Prayer Vigil and Public Witness grounded in faith, compassion, and justice.

As a CRSM community of students and staff, we gathered to remember the lives impacted by immigration enforcement, to pray together, and to stand in solidarity with those who are hurting. In a spirit of reverence and respect, students lifted their voices, shared symbols of heritage and hope, and demonstrated what faith-filled leadership truly looks like.

This was not about politics; it was about people. It was about dignity, mercy, and the courage to stand together in prayer.

Thank you to every student who participated with integrity and heart, and to our faculty and staff who supported this meaningful time of reflection. Your leadership reflects the values of our community: compassion, unity, and justice rooted in faith.

May we continue to lead with love, listen with empathy, and act with courage.

Yesterday’s Lunch and Learn session looked a little different!

Today during lunch, our students led a powerful Prayer Vigil and Public Witness grounded in faith, compassion, and justice.

We are incredibly grateful to the business partners who sent representative volunteers to support our students:
